NLX’s technical capability has been further bolstered by the arrival of Avinab “Avi” Rajbhandary as a Cloud Architect.

His seven years’ experience in software development at an IT digital consultancy included leading an integration team of six people for the last five years tasked to assist with the digital transformation of a financial institution. Avi will be directly developing new products and enhancements to the NLX platform. He is joining as a key contributor to the continuous automation improvement that provides a faster and more frictionless self-service experience for all customers.

“I enjoy working on integration applications, building APIs, and automation technologies,” explains Avi. “I love building products and applications that make routine tasks convenient for users through automation and digitalization of experience. I am particularly keen about emerging technologies, which is what makes NLX such an exciting place to be at this time.”

Avi reports to NLX CTO Vlad Papancea, who comments:

“Avi has shown throughout his career to date that he is versatile, industrious and technically extremely adept, particularly in the field of emerging technologies. He is a highly adaptive professional, is a great addition to our team and I’m confident will make a significant contribution to the NLX platform and our customers.”

A graduate from Knox College, Illinois with dual majors in Computer Science and Economics with honors, Avi is fluent in English, Nepali and Hindi. He is an avid enthusiast of the English Premier League and ardent follower of Liverpool Football Club. He also enjoys experiencing different cultures through food and travel.

As CTO, Vlad has overall responsibility for the NLX platform and infrastructure. This includes implementing best practices in areas of engineering operations, security, monitoring, analytics and automation.

He ran terabyte-scale data pipelines to facilitate AI-powered risk underwriting at Argo Group. He established DevOps standards for deploying new products on AWS, while migrating legacy applications to the new prescribed architecture. Furthermore, he created reusable frameworks and pipelines for both actuaries and data scientists to deploy their statistical and machine learning models to the cloud, in production.

When he’s not hacking away on all things data, Vlad cooks Michelin-grade dishes — we dare you ask for photos.

He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Knox College.
